UK Scientists Have Created Male Contraceptive PillMon, 27 November 2006 British scientists have created a hormone free male contraceptive pill It is being reported that British scientists have manufactured the first male contraceptive pill. According to the scientists, the pill can be taken once before an encounter and has no side effects, giving the man a dry orgasm, thus eliminating the risk of pregnancy. The pill is being manufactured using drugs that have been incorperated in treating schizophrenia. It works by preventing ejaculation, thus allowing for a dry orgasm, returning the male's full fertility levels a few hours after ingestion. The new pill is hormone free, thus eliminating any risks of stroke or heart attacks. “If the man was taking the pill over a period of several months and decided to come off it, we would expect his fertility to return just as quickly as if he had taken it on a one-off basis,” stated Dr Christopher Smith, from King’s College. Scientists hope to begin clinical trials of the drug in the very near future.
