Alli May Appeal Eating Disorders Patients

Fri, 27 July 2007

A credible preparation for obese and overweight to lose weight, alli, the first and only FDA approved over- the-counter diet pill may be abused by eating disorders patients, claims Randall Flanery,.a Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute psychologist having specialization in the treatment of such patients.

"As it is already accepted by the FDA, some people conceive it as a safest mean. When patients have a healthy weight and still are making use of Alli as a part of their eating disorder, then it would not be safe. It can even aggravate the severity of an eating disorder because it amplifies symptoms of an eating disorder that such patients already have," avows Randall, who also works as an adjunct associate professor at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Diarrhea is one of the main side effects of Alli.

Moreover, for an individual who already has been exploiting laxatives, diarrhea is not a big hitch to deal with.
