Smoking increases risk of ED

Smoking has been directly linked to increased risk of erectile dysfunction in men in a study aimed to find the relation between the two. The study was conducted by Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, China. Headed by Jiang He, professor of Epidemiology at the university, a team of researchers conducted study on 7, 684 men of 35-74 years from China.

When participants were surveyed on their smoking habits and sexual health, it was found that smoking contributed to 22.7 per cent of ED cases in China. The survey conducted in 2000-01 has established the correlation between cigarette and sexual fitness in men.

It remains to be seen that how quitting smoking shall affect the occurrence of erectile dysfunction cases.
